Turn 2 partners with S.C.O.P.E.

During the summer of 2006, the Turn 2 Foundation entered into a new partnership with S.C.O.P.E. (Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge) to provide "Camperships" for over 100 children. The children, selected from Turn 2 Signature programs, as well as partnership programs, were able to participate in an exciting, free summer sleep-away camp experience. Turn 2 worked with S.C.O.P.E. to select three excellent camps -- Camp Fiver, Camp Vacamas and YMCA of Greater New York's Camps Talcott and McAllister.

The campers were able to enjoy a wide variety of activities, including horseback riding, hiking, arts & crafts, swimming, computers, camping and sports. When asked what he would change about his summer camp experience, one very enthusiastic camper said, "Nothing!"

The Jeter’s Leaders is a youth leadership, social change program named by the captain of the New york Yankees, Derek Jeter, and funded by his Turn 2 Foundation. The program is designed to promote healthy lifestyles, academic achievement and social change activism among high school students.
