Jeter's Leaders member since 2006

In a word or phrase, what does leadership mean to you? Tenacity.

Why did you join the program? I join the Jeter's Leaders program because I wanted to give back to the community. Without my community I wouldn't be the person I am today. In addition, I joined the program because I wanted to improve my leadership skills and break the social barriers I placed upon myself.

What have you gained from the program? I gained many things from the program. I have become a better leader. I have visited and seen many different universities, I have acquired SAT preparation classes, but perhaps most importantly I have acquired friends in the long-run.

What is your favorite part of the program? My favorite part of the program is the mentoring activities we do. I enjoy this especially because the leaders constantly think and plan out the ideas and presentations we are going to give at these sites. Most importantly, after presenting I know deep in my heart that we have made a difference in the children's lives.
