Why did you join the program? I joined the program the program because I believed it would have a positive influence on me and help me out in school as well. I also joined the program because of what it stood for and it's work with our community.

What have you gained from the program? I have gained a better understanding of what being a leader is all about. By tutoring and giving workshops over these past three years, I felt like I've become a positive influence to the kids in those programs. I have also learned a lot through our workshops with guest speakers; they not only gave me insight on what they did whether it was public speaking or on eating healthy, but they've also allowed me to become more versatile.

What is your favorite part of the program? My favorite part of the program was the tutoring and mentoring because I felt like a real role model for those kids. Even today if I were to see one of the children some would recognize me and that makes me believe I've been some sort of positive influence in their life whether it was helping them with their homework or tying their shoes for them.
